Just read this article touting the upside to the loss of Arctic Sea Ice and wanted to bang my head against a wall.
From now on the Arctic Ocean must be kept off-limits: whether it's for shipping, drilling, or anything that's not actively creating more ice or capturing methane, we, as a species, simply cannot afford it. The very notion of sending ships through the tragic eggshell that's soon to be the Arctic should inspire nothing but disgust.
What can you do? When you see an article that even hints at an upside to the loss of Arctic sea ice, immediately write a letter to the editor shaming them. (see the Climate Letter Project)
Or send me your ideas. Signs on the freeway are like letters to the editor that always get published.
