A lot of people are answering my call to action, to take on the corruption that's dawning our democracy (at the proverbial bottom of a bathtub). As the network of activists grow, I'm imputing their cities in a Google Map so everybody can share in the excitement of seeing expand. Click here to view the map. Every little blue dot signifies a member of the network.
Earlier I also send my latest newsletter. Please click here to view.
Getting back to the subject, or title of the diary, it refers to the need for "the good guys" to not only unite, but to have a very clear plan for taking on the corruption that's engulfing (and damaging) the country, and our democracy.
I'm looking for true believers at this point. Anybody who feels there is nothing we can do about what's happening, or worst yet, anybody who beliefs that there isn't anything wrong, we'll be glad to welcome you into the fold once you're able to overcome those doubts.
National Advertising/Counter-Propaganda Campaign
The most powerful weapon the corporatist cartels controlling the country have is their ownership of the mainstream media, which they use to manipulate the population with false narratives, lies, misinformation, and propaganda.
I'm recruiting people to help me come up with ideas to launch a national advertising, anti-propaganda, and public outreach campaign. First we'll develop the ideas to come up with very powerful, easily-understandable, accurate, irrefutable, and professionally-looking ad and marketing campaigns. We'll start slow with maybe newspaper ads, online social networks, SEO, and as confidence builds, we'll move on the TV, Radio, Billboards, etc.
This effort would have to be "crowd-funded." Since "we" don't have the funding yet, we need to go by the "if you build it, they will come" adage. So first, let's do what we are able to do: share your ideas. Use this forum to share your idea: Economic Theory. Just click on "New Topic" and get going. It would be great if I can get input from advertising, marketing, product development professionals, as well as from activists, and anybody else who has ideas.
Here's an example of the type of wok I'd like to see as we move forward:
If at first the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.

Protests
Let's get ready for Spring and Summer... I'd like to develop the concept of what I've coined "pulsating flash mobs." In concept, and theory, they are very low-risk, but if applied, they could be very powerful.
Here's the scenario... It's 12:00 P.M. on a weekday, and all of the sudden there is a very fast surge (flash mob) of people at Oakland's Civic Center (or the San Francisco Financial District). For impact, it would be great if everybody agreed to dress all in black.
People come in from all directions; Their numbers seem to swell out of nowhere. All of the sudden, you have several hundreds, or even thousands of people. Everything stops (traffic, etc.).
The Civic Center is full with office workers and city employees, and visitors. Assigned people within the protest group proceed to pass out flyers (I put together this one to the left as an example).
Others spread out posters with very carefully-designed messaging.
No violence, not destruction of property... Just a huge swell of people (very coordinated, and disruptive).
Every individual by him or herself takes care of not violating any particular law. When the authorities show up, everybody dissipates, calmly, and in multiple directions.
An hour later, the flash mob appears at another bustling and busy location and does the same thing; they dissipate again, and two hours later, the group appears at another location; the authorities would be forced to go from one location to the next, but if people are disciplined, there should be no probable cause to arrest anybody.
The tactic is low-risk, and people start twitting, emailing, and calling their friends to join in. Once this starts, it's then kept-up for the foreseeable future. The tactic spreads to multiple cities, and the massive disruptions start looking like spasms of a sick system, stopping the gears of an oppressive a corrupt machine...
We'll be developing many other ideas, including how to spread concepts like employee-owned businesses, food and housing collectives, sustainable economic practices, virtual unions around the entire country, and many others.
But the most important thing is to form a very tight, cohesive, and strategic nationwide network of activists that are able to coordinate actions against the corruption sources that are destroying our democracy.
Make sure to join my email list. As people join in, I'll ad entries to the map.
