Great hairy greetings! Welcome, welcome to your Fuzzy Friday open thread. I thought this week I'd share a few links to some things that make me laugh.
If you'd care to peek over the adorable ginger hairball I'll get started.
Meantime, this is an open thread so make of it what you will.
Growing up listening to public radio in the USA I was introduced not only to the finest of American comedy which I believe reached its peak with Bob & Ray, but also to the well from which all the beautiful absurdist comedy of Britain flows, namely: The Goon Show. I used to tape The Goon Show from the radio and when I stumbled upon albums of the glorious Goons in my favorite record shops I snatched those up instantly. I bought dozens of tapes. The Goons had me hooked.
Their shows influenced generations of comedians, Billy Connolly, Monty Python, Douglas Adams, Frankie Boyle, Dara O'Briain ...
I'm addicted. The more British comedy I dig up the more I want. YouTube is packed with brilliant shows clips from official channels, whole shows swiped from DVDs like The IT Crowd:
Aaagh! More, more, more!
Mitchell and Webb!
Alright, enough already! What are you laughing at?
