This has got to be a relief for depressed Republicans: RNC chairman Reince Priebus says the GOP is winning the battle of ideas:
We're not losing the issues on the math. We're not losing the issues on spending, and debt, and jobs, and the economy. Those are total winners for us.
"Total winners." From @reince's lips to your ears. But if Republicans are winning, why did the RNC
publish a 100-page autopsy on what went wrong in 2012?
According to Priebus:
What we found in the election is that while we're winning those arguments on spending and math, we're losing this sort of emotional, cultural vote out there in presidential elections.
Ah, yes. Republicans aren't winning after all. Well, I mean, they're winning on the issues. And they'd also be winning the elections if it weren't for those pesky voters who only vote for the other side because they are way too emotional (I'll bet you $10,000 in Monopoly cash that Reince meant women!) and culturally biased (because Reince knows Latinos and African-Americans are problems too).
So if you're wondering why Reince is so confident, it's because he knows Republicans don't need to change their ideas, their policies, or what they stand for. They just need to figure out how to stop those idiots who vote for Democrats from being so damn stupid and irrational and ethnocentric. With a grand old party like the GOP, how hard could that possibly be?
