Daily Kos is a scary place for a lurker considering engaging. It's crowded, with tons of people.
To explain it more clearly,
It's exactly what it was designed to be. Bunches of people with varying opinions discussing, arguing and looking for common ground to advance the common good.
Don't be scared, jump the hump.
I was once a "newbie", heh loved it when they said that and pointed out my number thinking that made those doing so made them oh so much smarter. As you can tell I don't play syntax I write the same as I talk. I'll explain something else to those with the high UID's, some of that sounds awful familiar never let that scare you.
Here another thing I have learned in my time here... Never ever allow anyone to convince you that their the fount of all knowledge. If you have a belief or conviction stand by it and never accept that if you coalesce just because you want to be part of the "in" crowd. Scratch, claw take your licks when deserved and hand them out when they are deserved. Never allow others to determine the correct approach for you because in the end it will be only your head that hits the pillow at night. Don't follow the herd because this is what it actually says ....
It's a Democratic blog with one goal in mind: electoral victory. And since we haven't gotten any of that from the current crew, we're one more thing: a reform blog. The battle for the party is not an ideological battle. It's one between establishment and anti-establishment factions. And as I've said a million times, the status quo is untenable.
Never forget that and make sure that no one else does either. It's why this place exists. So welcome to the jungle my new friends let's make for sure the better overrules the more..
