New York Post says same-sex marriage is a threat to religious freedom. I wasn’t aware that a new law that actually required citizens to take a same-sex spouse was in the works. I hope my new husband likes to cook.

The Republican National Committee has issued a plan to improve their 2016 nominating process which includes cutting the number of primary debates in half, starting those debates closer to when voting actually begins, and shortening the primary season. The assumption here, of course, is that the greater the exposure voters have to Republican ideas and candidates the more votes the party stands to lose.

Mike Huckabee is threatening that he and evangelical Christians may abandon the Republican Party if the party doesn’t conform to his “objective” standard on marriage. This could be the first good news for the GOP in a long, long time. The half-dozen or so remaining moderates in the party might soon be able to return from wherever they’ve been hiding since 1980.

A California court has awarded a disabled man $8,000 from Disneyland after the amusement park’s "It's A Small World" ride broke down, stranding him for a half hour while the song played continuously. That song has been scraping the chalkboard in my brain since I first heard it almost 50 years ago. Does anybody have the phone number for that guy’s lawyer? This ought to be worth billions.

An Ohio prosecutor has brought an indictment against the famed prognosticating groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, on charges of fraud for predicting an early spring that has yet to arrive. When asked by reporters about the indictment, the tiny-brained, spotlight-craving mammal had no comment. So far there has been no word from Phil, either.
