Hot diggity dog they are on fire!

Congressman Don Young R-AK

My father had a ranch; we used to have 50-60 wetbacks to pick tomatoes
Hot damn, and once upon a time we had slaves to pick cotton, sigh; whatever happened to the good old days?

But, but he is sorry that he was misunderstood, he just loves wetb...guest workers.

Rep. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D

Tribal governments are dysfunctional. Tribal courts are dysfunctional, and how could a non-native man get a fair trial on the reservations?”
Damn injuns hate us?

Goddammit he is sorry for the tone, not the content.

Dave Agema, Republican National Committeeman

who previously served as a Michigan state representative, posted an article Wednesday on Facebook that described the lifestyle of homosexuals as "filthy." It also listed "some statistics about the homosexual lifestyle," including: "Many homosexual sexual encounters occur while drunk, high on drugs, or in an orgy setting (7)," "50% of suicides can be attributed to homosexuals (10)" and "Homosexuals account for 3-4% of all gonorrhea cases, 60% of all syphilis cases, and 17% of all hospital admissions (other than for STDs) in the United States (5)." (Here is a screen grab from Agema's Facebook post.)
Not that they necessarily disagree, but this type of rhetoric might lose them the next election.

Mike Huckabee threatens to take his ball away if disobeyed

"And it's not because there's an anti-homosexual mood, and nobody's homophobic that I know of," he continued, "but many of us, and I consider myself included, base our standards not on the latest Washington Post poll, but on an objective standard, not a subjective standard."
Actually it's because they are homophobic, but trying desperately not to be percieved as such.

I might just have to make this a series, since 2012 was full of gems.

Perhaps the first step in the RNC outreach program should be:

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
