Daily Kos Radio's Kagro in the Morning show podcasts are now available through iTunes.

Grr! I'm so mad about this Linda Chavez thing!

Although there's clearly little out there that could possibly be more important than a Google doodle outrage, I think we can manage to put on a show today.

April Fool! No we won't! Ha ha ha!

No, April Fool again! Yes we will!

April Fool's Day has become a horrible parody of itself. I hope that's the full extent of my mention of it.

No I don't! Ha ha! Got you, again!

Regardless, we'll talk more about the practical joke on 99% of us that is the U.S. economy, review the news of the day (that isn't fake), and remark briefly on how Congress won't be in town this week, either.

We're LIVE at 9 a.m. ET with Kagro in the Morning, thanks to NetrootsRadio.com.

We've been having some chronic problems with the phone-in system, and it's rightly pointed out that if we can't deliver on the promise, we shouldn't hold out the offer.

I'll see what we can do to get the tech straightened out so that we can open the doors again, soon!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:

won't be on the show today (laryngitis, I'm croaking like a frog) but hope to see you wednesday.

In the meantime look for Ct to announce gun responsibility measures today or tomorrow, and vote by Wednesday.

After nearly a month of closed-door meetings, legislative leaders have reached bipartisan agreement on new gun control proposals that they intend to present to rank and file members Monday afternoon.

"The leaders have had productive conversations through the end of the week,'' said Adam Joseph, spokesman for Senate Democrats. "The leaders are going to give all four caucuses an update of where negotiations stand ... our hope is to have a final vote in the immediate future."

The Hartford Courant reports Democratic and Republican leaders have apparently hammered out agreement and will present it to their caucuses today.

The focus has been on expanding background checks, an expanded ban on assault weapons and a ban on high capacity ammunition magazines.

Last week newly released documents revealed investigators discovered hundreds of rounds of ammunition purchased legally at home of the Sandy Hook shooter. At Sandy Hook Elementary school, investigators found 153 spent shell casings.

The proposal will be pitched behind closed doors today. There will be an effort to bring it up for debate and a possible vote on Wednesday.
