No word from chickenhawk cruz, who loves spitting on us Vietnam Veterans, especially Kerry and Hagel, after he made no attempt to join in these past decade years and serve with our younger brothers and sisters of these two wars and now ages out at 42plus, office yet!!

Hagel to Take Pay Cut in Solidarity with Furloughed Workers

Wait till he has to beg Hagel to try and save some of the Military operations on bases in Texas!

02 April 2013 - U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel is giving back a portion of his salary as a sign of solidarity with the Pentagon’s civilian employees who will be furloughed, spokesman George Little confirmed Tuesday.

Little said, “I had a discussion shortly after he took office with the secretary, and he will voluntarily subject part of his salary to furlough levels, even though he's not required. He has committed to do that; that's right."

"I'm not going to speak for other senior officials but I feel compelled to at least let you know that the secretary plans to subject his pay to furlough levels even though he's not required to because he is a presidentially appointed, Senate-confirmed official in this department,” he continued. read more>>>

Good for our Vietnam Brother Secretary Hagel, won't help the many middle class families much, but a great gesture of Solidarity to the civilian defense workers and a show of respect for what they do!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
