If you’ve been following the myriad stories regarding our ever-increasing surveillance state and our government’s deliberate and massive suppression of virtually all forms of social activism and protest within our
totalitarian “free” society, then you may have read, over the past 24 hours, about the latest breaking news – this time from The Partnership for Civil Justice Fund – concerning their publication of two documents obtained via their Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) demands of the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”), in this article: “New Documents Reveal: DHS spying on Peaceful Demonstrations and Activists.” (Kossacks joanneleon and joe shikspack provided links to this story, yesterday, in their posts HERE and HERE, respectively.)
However, since these latest, just-uncovered DHS documents comprise more than 500 pages of details regarding countless, egregious actions by our government -- directly in conjunction with Wall Street, literally, at their side, as I noted in THIS post on December 30th: “Guardian, Smith, et al: ‘Banks deeply involved...in integrated, corporate-state OWS repression’" – I thought I’d draw the community’s attention to the top of page 99 (a big h/t to Pam Martens at her Wall Street On Parade blog) of the first of these two DHS documents obtained by the PCJF, this week.
As you’re about to see, while numerous blogs and even a few MSM outlets pointed to Daily Kos as being at the forefront of the left blogosphere’s support of the Occupy Wall Street movement, when it first surfaced back in September 2011, as of the past 48 hours, we’re learning that it’s now officially confirmed that the Department of Homeland Security, Wall Street (itself), the FBI, and just about anyone else wearing a badge in our country looked to this community for the latest intelligence on the OWS movement, as well.

Monitoring Peaceful Demonstrations and Activists as a Matter of Policy
Partnership for Civil Justice Fund
April 2, 2013
Government documents obtained by the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund (PCJF) through its FOIA records requests reveal that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), an agency created after the September 11 attacks under the rubric of combating terrorism, conducts daily monitoring of peaceful, lawful protests as a matter of policy.
Functioning as a secret political police force against people participating in lawful, peaceful free speech activity, the heavily redacted documents show that the DHS “Threat Management Division” directed Regional Intelligence Analysts to provide a “Daily Intelligence Briefing” that includes a category of reporting on “Peaceful Activist Demonstrations” along with “Domestic Terrorist Activity.” (p. 68)
The PCJF has obtained thousands of pages of documents pursuant to its Freedom of Information Act demands and made them available for public viewing. The newly obtained documents show coordination and intelligence monitoring by the DHS, the FBI, the NYPD and other law enforcement agencies of “Occupy-type” protests.
The documents show the routine use of Fusion Centers for intelligence gathering on peaceful demonstrations as well as the use of DHS’ “Mega Centers” for collection of surveillance information on demonstrations…
Apparently, social activists peacefully expressing their
former constitutional rights -- with Daily Kos being a blog at the forefront of peaceful social activism in the blogosphere, since the community regularly delivers the news of these types of efforts—are considered to be the enemies of the comprehensively corrupt and captured state.
