Isn't that what we are doing when we loan the money to sell aircraft for China?
Don't get me wrong I understand that regional and national boundaries are constructs and are repeatedly used to keep the 99% at each others throats. And I understand certain corporations need assistance to create jobs.
But Boeing is a super giant, why do they need our loan? Why can't they take the risk? And why can't Boeing instead look at renewable projects here in the US to promote as that is where industry is evolving. They already have aerodynamics and wing dimensions on the brain. Tell me why they are not doing a Manhattan Project for impeller blades?
Or using their airframe design to make lighter stronger light rail cars.
We need both of those things. And yes I know Boeing is all aircraft all the time, but as I have provided examples for they could very easily guide some of their projects where the future lies.
Purpose and Use:
Brief description of the purpose of the transaction:
To support the export of U.S. manufactured commercial aircraft to China.
Brief non-proprietary description of the anticipated use of the items being exported:
To provide short-and medium haul airline service in China and between China and other regional destinations and to provide long-haul airline service between China and various international destinations.
To the extent that Ex-Im Bank is reasonably aware, the item(s) being exported may be used to produce exports or provide services in competition with the exportation of goods or provision of services by a United States industry.
I guess my biggest problem with this is we are helping drive down wages here when we use our tax resources to promote projects in other nations.
