MCCONNELL: On 9/11 we forever disabused of the notion that attacks, like the one that rocked Boston yesterday ,only happen on the field of battle or in distant countries. With the passage of time, however, and the vigilant efforts of our military, intelligence and law enforcement professionals, I think it’s safe to say that for many, the complacency that prevailed prior to September 11th has actually returned. And so we are newly reminded that serious threats to our way of life remain. And today again we recommit ourselves to the fight against terrorism at home and abroad.
Who is complacent? Law enforcement? Law makers? The citizenry? At what point does one never come down off of hyper vigilance?
What do you want Mitch? Should we all be bar coded and bugged 24/7? Is this the first salvo in the ongoing profit center to re-Patriot Act us?
What does this have to do with 911? What if it's a home grown, real American that is disgusted with the lack of the rule of law in this country, courtesy of you and your esteemed colleagues in the domed building?
You're the one who is complacent. You have a cushy job and no worries and a rich wife. You have expended little to no effort and serve to thwart the majority of the population of this country. The only thing you care about is hoarding more money for yourself. That's complacency and laziness.
