..standing outside the senate chamber we'd get real gun laws. If we had 500 thousand angry citizens standing outside the facilities of "media" sources that spout propaganda and hate, it would stop. If we had 500 thousand angry citizens standing outside Wall Street CEO salaries wouldn't continue to be obscene, and we'd get fairer taxes. What are we waiting for?

We sit here today watching a war against the middle class. We sit here today and allow OUR government to lie to us about WMDs and then label us traitors if we disagreed. We sit here today watching as evil-doers work to deny voters their right to vote. We sit here today as corruption and greed contaminate our society. Practically EVERY social institution is rife with corruption. Government, business, religion, sports, you name it.

We sit here and watch dangerous ignoramuses criticize fruit fly research and declare our war in Iraq was a mission from God. They declare that evolution and climate science are from the pits of hell. They accuse our government of being filled with communist terrorist sympathizers. Lie after lie after lie.

We have politicians who have framed the health care question as, "That lazy government worker has benefits, we need to stop that." When the obvious question should be , "how can we get the same good benefits for all?"

We have a failed drug war that is ruining lives as I type. Presidential candidates who won't release his tax returns while parking his wealth over seas. Governors who talk about secession and watering the tree of liberty.

What the fuck is going on? It's time. Time to stand. Time to march. Time to get angry. We know where the problems are. Lets get their attention. It's our only hope. Science and reason or fear and ignorance. What will it Be America? Hell, what does America even mean any more.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
