Welcome to the April 19, 2013 Post Game Show for Mojo Friday!

Today's Mojo Friday diary is Mojo Friday - Boston - Edition

Boston.  West Texas.  These are only the latest events in which our people - local police, fire, EMTs, nurses, doctors, and citizens - ran into the face of a dangerous situation to help those in need.   Sometimes, as in West Texas, they become victims of the disaster or event themselves.   At the right time and place, we may be called ourselves to be heroes.  Except, that when we respond we're not thinking of being heroic. We're not thinking about ribbons and medals and commendations.  We're not thinking about being on the national news and on the front cover of Time Magazine, or even Sports Illustrated.  We're thinking about helping ... helping those in need.

We should all remember that there are many in need, who are not the victims of a random event (natural or human-caused).  They are the victims of national policies which deprive them of access to education, to health, to food, to a place to live. They are the victims of business owners who intentionally fail to take the precautions they should, to keep their facilities, their employees and the public around them safe from the risks present in their business.  They are the victims of business executives who care only for their financial gain, not the financial havoc they wreak on others.  They are the victims of those who think that those who have should have more, and those who don't, well, who cares?

Well I care.  And your presence here means you care.  Let's make this a country that helps all those in need, no matter the cause.

You can help now.  Donate to the Red Cross. Donate to OneFundBoston.  Matter of fact, go out and give some more!

The Mojo Friday Postgame is a statistical analysis of the Mojo Friday diary that is posted every Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. ET. ?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
