My wife Melissa and I were out on a drive through the country yesterday. Spring is finally here and for anyone who has even lived through 4 months of winter rains in Bellingham, WA, the four months of spring is what makes the rain worth it. Thanks to the Bay, the weather is moderate, and due to all the rain, its green year round, but in the spring, when the sun comes out, Bellingham is one of THE most beautiful places in the world. Which is why we moved here four and a half years ago, from having lived in the Seattle area for five years, after having only visited here for a day. It's that beautiful. And this is a quick pic from my iPhone of my favorite road to look down when my wife and I go for a drive through the country side around here.
I wish I had our real camera to take a real photo, because looking down this road is like looking down a road in the Shire. So richly lush and green and glowing from the sunlight that it feels truly magical.
I'm writing this diary as I sit in the sun on a log on the beach at a small park by the bay listening to the sound of the wind and waves and birds as I wait to go to the gym to lift weights while my wife is in her Japanese history class after which we will walk through the forrest around a lake up in the hills. Sometimes, life is blissful.
