Well! It's been a while, and I've got loads of new books lining the shelves of my dear Kindle.  My portable library is getting fuller by the moment.  I've gotten some freebies, and I'd also gotten a few books that I'd purchased between Christmas and my birthday last month (for both of which I'd gotten gifts from the Book Fairy- or rather the Amazon Gift Card fairy!).

So, I've gotten quite a few books for the $50 I'd gotten for Christmas and the $25 that I'd gotten for my birthday.  Have I read any of them? Nope, not yet, but I will get through them this year (aside from the fact that I've got stuff from the library that I'm reading).

Right now, gonna start with the stuff that I got from the gift card on Christmas :) List, below the doodle!

THE CORPUS CORRUPTUM - Evans Light and Adam Light present some delightfully twisted horror stories.  These are their mutant children, fever dreamed hallucinations that don't fit into any particular genre.  This collection peeks into what happens when the body goes bad.  Definitely a not before bedtime read, though not a very long read at fifty five pages digital.

THE DESCENT SERIES BOOKS 1-3 - This was a cheap, if not free box set on Amazon, that I picked up and one of a couple that I'd grabbed when I was doing my shopping.  Free/cheap box sets are win, and give more book for your buck.  This set has three books in it, Death's Hand, The Darkest Gate, and Dark Union.

THE SECRET DIARY OF ALICE IN WONDERLAND, AGE 42 AND THREE-QUARTERS - This is a Comedy Mystery, and I simply got it because the title made me giggle.  Despite the various undertones in the Alice in Wonderland series, I have always liked them and thought that this would be a good read.

ROYAL PRINCES OF RUTHENIA BOX SET - Yet another of those box sets that were either free or relatively cheap on Amazon.  Definite win.  This also indulges my occasional desire to read romances (okay, I tend to have that desire often, but still!).  Two books in this collection that I'd purchased for the whole price of $2.99 on Amazon.  Royal Seduction and Royal Passion.

SHIVER (WOLVES OF MERCY FALLS) - The first book in the Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater.  For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf, her wolf, is a chilling presence she can't live without. Sam, on the other hand lives two lives.  In the chilling months of winter he roams the frozen woods with the pack and is the protector of a human girl.  In the warmer months of the summer he is human. Linger and Forever round out this series.

WIZARD RISING - The first book in the Five Kingdoms series by Toby Neighbors.

THE WITCHES OF SANTA ANNA - Another of those boxed set gems.  Seven books in this series all in one set.  Claimed, Tricked, Rumored, Hushed, Enticed, Pursued, and Ruined.  These are the "season one" novellas in the series by Lauren Barnholdt and Aaron Gorvine.

THE GRIMM DIARIES PREQUELS - Box sets for the win.  Six prequel novellas in the Grimm Diaries Series. These prequels are epistolary diary entries by The Evil Queen, Peter Pan, Little Red Riding Hood, the Devil, Prince Charming, and Alice Grimm. The first book in this series was published in Feb 2013.

H.T. NIGHT'S 8-BOOK VAMPIRE BOX SET - Another of those multibook, box set gems that I pulled from Amazon for under $3. YAY.  Who doesn't love a good vampire book (and no, Twilight is NOT a good vampire book)? Vampies are fun! Loads of fun...and more often than not sex as hell (when they don't look like they've bathed in glitter).  Vampire Love Story, The Werewolf Whisperer, Forever and Always, Vampires vs. Werewolves, Werewolf Love Story: Part One, Werewolf Love Story: Part Two, The Rise of Kyro, and Bad Blood.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
