I was in the middle of a post when I got the call that Daddy had died. I want to thank OPOL who posted a thread about his death.
It was a hard trip. 1000 miles round trip and I always said Mama or Daddy never passed at good times for me financially, being on a fixed income. Of course I am sure
it was not their choice. There were eight of us in one car and 100 dollars to go. I was already like Jax Dem, coughing and full of allergies. I had to take my baby sister who just finished surgery and she was throwing up all the way there. My son helped me drive. I had to leave my vet home as he was not able to make that trip.
Daddy had sent for years his little 36.00 a month via the nursing home to the funeral home. In a period of 6 years he almost got it all covered. I arranged a military graveside service and could not find his DD214 until I got back home.
Daddy was a simple man with simple needs and he would have felt we made too big a fuss over him. There were over 400 in attendance to pay their respects.. I was a Daddy's girl and it hurt me terribly. I saw many people I had not seen in years but the trip was so hard that I could not even get to see Rachel or OPOL but did call and left messages. I wanted to thank everyone here for their sympathies. 90 is a long time but we are never ready to give them up.
When I returned home after going from 90 degree weather to 38 temps in Ga, my daughters were really sick but my 18 year about to graduate had something else wrong.
I had no more than gotten home trying to get a cap and gown for her 24 hours after returning from Daddy's funeral when she was taken and admitted to the hospital with an inflamed colon. She is still in the hospital. Beth has never been sick a day in her life other than colds but they are now feeding her through the veins and she was my Daddy's pick of the kids. My vet is at the hospital with her and we really do not know what is happening. She graduates in 3 weeks. My little one coughed all night. I am tired. I found the DD214 and feel somewhat in a fog. It sounds like my daughter has something like Shannika. My prayers are with Shannika.
Please continue to pray for this family as I feel like I am on my last leg in all of this turmoil. My sister also went to the doctor due to the trip causing her prolapse surgery to tear loose. Daddy would be so upset know we had all these obstacles but would be proud of me having such a warm community of love. We lost a good die hard democrat last week.
The bugle, not cd's were played at the graveside and the service was nice but as we came home we realized how life and hardships continue. I am going on down to the hospital to see how long my daughter is supposed to be in the hospital and what is happening.
Here is the Video Tribute provided by the funeral home, and I want to thank all of you.
I do have more monies to contribute to this veteran's funeral so if anyone wants to donate to the organization to go to help this family for paying out the rest, it will go to
my Dad's final expenses.
Keep me in your thoughts as I am stressed, grieved and tired.

The video of tribute is under Fred Little and I honestly do not think I could have had sense to put this funeral together without all of your words of encouragement. Thank you.
This is one veteran besides my husband who meant the world to me...My daddy.
I am trying to pay his final 700.00 expenses and I am also trying to run for graduation doings with a child in the hospital. If you feel the need to give to United Veterans for this veteran to help out...the organization would be grateful. Love you guys.
