The vote came as the House is preparing to fly out of town on yet another recess vacation, and during the vote the White House confirmed President Obama will sign the legislation when it hits his desk. So not only will the traveling public be pleased, but so will members of Congress who depend on air travel. Nonetheless, as House Democratic leaders pointed out, the legislation does nothing to spare less powerful people from the impacts of the sequester.
The whole thing is the logical conclusion of government by hostage-taking. And the hostages that get shot are the ones that don't have friends in Congress. The only real solution is to end the hostage crisis, and that means repealing the sequester.
