Conservatives have a new cause, apparently. First incoming NRA president Jim Porter, and now one of the Republican Party's elected officials.
Tennessee State Senator Frank Niceley has a past of staunch Tea Party beliefs. He supported Orly Taitz's Birther lawsuit, and this year has sponsored bills to require armed guards or armed teachers in every public school and to partially end democratic election of US Senators.
Recently, in reply to a tweet by a conservative upset about Jay Carney saying "Benghazi happened a long time ago", Senator Niceley wrote the following:
Is it just me, or is this embrace of historical revisionism disturbing? The Civil War was the deadliest war in American history, fought to maintain the Union and abolish slavery. To call it an act of aggression by the North completely disregards the reality of the world, and carries unsettling racial undertones. What about the supposed 'War of Northern Aggression', exactly, will Senator Frank Niceley, Jim Porter, and others, not forget?
