You read that right. If you attend a public university in N.C. your life is worth a little less as the N.C. House has just passed laws that forbid public universities from banning guns on their campuses/classrooms.
Private universities and schools could opt not to permit weapons on campus, but public schools and universities would have to comply.
Yup, if you're a professor and give someone a bad grade be prepared for a little more than an angry student - the students will now be able to take action and put these "elitist professors" in their rightful place (six feet under is clearly where the N.C. legislature believes they belong).
Same thing goes for those that enjoy parks and playgrounds:
Local officials also would no longer be allowed to outlaw guns on greenways, biking and walking paths.
Just think, someone made you feel bad by passing you on their bike too fast? Quick solution - they'll never do it again. Playground dispute? No problem!
The ridiculousness of this bill passed in N.C. cannot be expressed any better than the way they do in the article:
"This is not something that makes our state a better place" said Rep. Deborah Ross, D-Wake. "It's something that puts us on Stephen Colbert, and we've been on Stephen Colbert a lot lately."
But Republicans said the bill is balanced.
So make sure you pack some heat and take it what you go drinking as well!
