Darth Vader:  The Emperor is pleasured with your progress on the Benghazi hearings.
Darth Issa:  Nothing has turned up master.
Darth Vader:  You have continued.  That's what the Emperor wants.
Darth Issa:  You're right Lord Vader.  The Sith fear nothing.
If anything the Benghazi affair is doing, it's making Darrell Issa and others in the Republican Party complete idiots and hypocrites at the same time.  Funny that Issa and his followers are so caught up on the Benghazi incident that you'd think their energy would have been better served for when they were rubber stamping President Bush and his Iraq War agenda.

Why is Darrell Issa all of a sudden so concerned about the situation in Benghazi?  If anything to me, it's nothing more than a pattern of his hyper partisan witch hunt that was much similar with the Fast & Furious scandal, which by the way was already resolved by the Inspector General and found that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder was not responsible for anything.

As you can see in the above video, the tone in that hearing is exactly what's going on with the Benghazi situation:  MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING.

I know I did a previous diary about Issa and the whole Benghazi history but I think it helps to understand the whole history for the record why Issa's whole investigation is making him more of an idiot and far more likely to lose his House seat in 2014 or 2016 the more he keeps it up.

Here's the video of the first Benghazi hearing:

Then here's Congressman Mike Kelly's questioning of the four people brought to testify:

Sometime later, then-Secretary of State Hilary Clinton came in to testify.  Here's the full hearing:

Then here's House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce Being Asked on Fox News on the answers given and shooting down attacks that this continued investigation in Benghazi has been political:

Then Hilary Clinton testifies at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee with a rather testy exchange towards Senator Ron Johnson:

Then Senator John McCain at the same committee is trying to get Hilary Clinton to reveal more but she points out that the House of Representatives has put a hold on funding for anti-terror and other measures in Libya:

Now, Darrell Issa is still looking back at the whole Benghazi controversy and still seems to be caught up on Hilary Clinton being wrong about it.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Wednesday that his report shows former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “was just wrong” in saying she didn’t participate in the security reductions at the U.S. post in Benghazi, Libya, before the attack on the facility on Sept. 11, 2012.

“The secretary of state was just wrong. She said she did not participate in this and yet, only a few months before the attack, she outright denied security in her signature in a cable [dated] April 2012,” Issa said on Fox News. “The thing that our report shows and our continued investigation shows is they had a policy of normalization appearance. They did everything they could to make it look like they had won the war and had the peace.”

Now here's Issa after the latest Benghazi hearing conceding that the investigation isn't over:

“I’m curious, did you learn anything new today?” Fox News host Greta Van Susteren asked Issa in an interview after the hearing. After meandering around for a bit, Issa finally got to the hearing’s grand revelation — Benghazi was a terror attack:

ISSA: I think the American people learned today from these brave witnesses, these whistleblowers, that the facts as we were told before during and after the attack at Benghazi just simply aren’t what they really were. The acting ambassador after Ambassador Stevens was murdered, told us in great detail about what happened that day and what happened in the days to follow and why we should know that he knew and everyone else in the mission knew from the moment it happened, from the get-go, as he said, that this was a terrorist attack.

Of course, here's this coming from former Defense Secretary Robert Gates which appears to not even be enough to have Issa go back to doing the job he's supposed to do as Congressman:

Personally, I've just about had it with this Benghazi crap and I'm hungry and ready to do anything in my power to make sure Darrell Issa (aka Darth Issa) gets defeated for re-election.

The previous 2012 challenger, Democrat Jerry Tetalman, got 41% of the votes with no outside-the-district help (except from donations across the country).

Furthermore, if Elizabeth Colbert-Busch can get 45% of the votes in a deep red South Carolina 1st Congressional District and in a special election, the same kind of operation can be done to fire up the troops in a CA-49 race.  Issa's district is less red than the SC-01 district that now-Congressman Mark Sanford occupies.

If you want to start channeling your anger, start voter registration drives and any other grassroots efforts in the CA-49 district, perhaps it would help to show some love for the San Diego Country Democratic Party by contacting them below and seeing what you can do to get Issa, the Sith Lord of Republicans, removed from office.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
