Darth Issa: Lord Vader, you have nothing to fear. I have complete control over the 49th Congressional District of California. This group will never win over the climate change argument.
Darth Vader: They must be the ones who stole the Death Star plans.
It may be the end of May 2013 but with regards to the issue of climate change and global warming, nothing's too early anymore.
In the case of the local San Diego Chapter of President Obama's Organizing for America group, 20 of its campaigners showed up in front of the infamous Congressman Darrell Issa's Vista, CA office this past Wednesday afternoon in an effort to urge the Congressman to take action on climate change.

VISTA — About 20 residents who are a part of the local chapter of Organizing for Action gathered outside of Darrell Issa’s office Wednesday afternoon in hopes of moving the needle on climate change.
Organizing for Action is a national volunteer group that was created to promote President Barack Obama’s legislative priorities on climate change and other matters.
Among one of the people in the local Organizing for America group is a military veteran who is making the case for those in the army and military community in California's 49th Congressional District (Camp Pendleton, the Marine Corps training facility, is located in the district):
“The Department of Defense is not only educating our troops on energy efficiency, sustainability and water conservation at home, but is also deploying these measures and clean-energy technology into the battlefield,” said Elizabeth Perez, a military veteran.
In addition, a former NASA flight director showed up at the rally:
Dwain Deets, a retired NASA flight director, said that manmade climate change is a reality.
He cited a recent study, published in the journal Environmental Research Letters, stating that 97 percent of peer-reviewed papers agree that human activity is driving climate change.
At the event, Darrell Issa didn't show up but from what the Organizing For Action group was told, the following bit of information has been revealed:
Issa, the representative of the 49th Congressional District, wasn't available to speak with Organizing for Action at the time. But the group was told he's open to talking climate change legislation at a later.
He's
"open to talking climate change legislation at a later date."
Unfortunately, the Coast News article is short and mentions no details as to who mentioned Darrell Issa was open to climate change legislation. It could be a legislative aide or any aide in general that operates out of the Issa's Vista, CA office.
We also don't know how the Organizing for Action group responded and how they reacted to the update that Issa's "open to talking climate change legislation at a later date."
Regardless, we know Darrell Issa, being a climate change denier, has not taken a single bit of action on the issue and remains a skeptic (or at least his mindset seems to block anything that doesn't fit in his ideology). Also, if you're open to talking climate change legislation at a later date, there's a 85% chance Issa really won't act on climate change at all and won't even do anything.
And as evident in this video, Darrell Issa doesn't seem to be at all motivated by a sense of urgency on global warming:
And no sense of urgency at all on the issue in this video at all, which by the way also features U.S. Senator Tom Carper from Delaware and Congressman Elijah Cummings, the ranking Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. What are they doing aligning themselves with Issa here?
I don't know about you but 20 protesters in front of Issa's Vista, CA office is small. We need hundreds of protesters, thousands even.
And these protests by the Organizing for America group are not being consistent and persistent so you have to wonder, is this organization really doing enough? And do they know enough about Issa?
However, you can if you want to contact the San Diego County Democratic Party and urge the base there to take action at Issa's Vista, CA office in an even stronger way. Francine Busby serves as Chairwoman of the SDCDP. We know she knows a thing or two about campaigning considering she ran in three Congressional races herself.
