There has been a bit of discussion, in progressive circles, about whether UniteBlue is exactly what it claims to be: A way to connect the Left, on Twitter & beyond . . .
(see "#UniteBlue on Twitter. What's the controversy all about?" by Angie in WA State)

I just got back from a MeetUp in Princeton, NJ, with UniteBlue founder, Zach Green (part of his "Listening Tour Across America").
My take-away is that Zach's sincere about working to enable a user-driven community for progressive change. And, that he's open to suggestions about both the structure & function of UniteBlue.
We discussed:
- The criticism that has been leveled at Zach & UniteBlue (which seems to me to be mostly people whose agenda is to see UniteBlue fail)
- UniteBlue's relationship with OFA
- Their status as a potential 501(c)(4) (along with the entailed limitations)
- Their leadership, funding & fundraising potential & hazards
- Their future social networking plans
- Their plans to have specific lists or groups - in order to target by State & by Issue
I tend to be an idealist but Zach seems far too knowledgeable on & committed to progressive issues & candidates to be pulling the wool over my eyes.
He presents his perspective in "Why I Founded UniteBlue" at:

I'm looking forward to Daily Kos writer - Angie in WA State's upcoming interview with Zach, soon to be published in the Daily Kos.
