The GOP brain-trust is meeting again,

-- between them all, they might actually find one ...

Faith and Freedom Coalition Conference: Most Bizarre Statements

by Elizabeth Flock, usnews.com -- June 14, 2013

"Immigrants are more fertile."
– former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, making the case for immigration reform

"College campuses are indoctrination camps for the abortion industry."
– Kate Obenshein, vice president of Young America's Foundation, in a panel on advancing the pro-life movement. She also called Planned Parenthood "barbarians."

"We lost because Obama won crushing, lopsided majorities among Americans who are single, poor, irreligious ... There are people who are all three."
– Michael Medved, conservative radio talk show host, on why Republicans lost the 2012 presidential election.

Oh the Humanity!  -- "single, poor, irreligious" ... We're Doomed!  (The GOP is thinking to themselves.)

But wait -- there's more!

Overheard at the Faith and Freedom Coalition's  'Road to Majority Conference'

by Brian Resnick, nationaljournal.com -- June 14, 2013

Paul Ryan
On the challenge of running against President Obama:
We kept sort of shadow-boxing the big government in theory. We had to argue against the promise and the rhetoric of President Obama.

Jeb Bush
On Immigration:
[...] we are going to have fewer workers taking care of a larger number of people that the government has a social contract with. We cannot do that with the fertility rates we have in our country. We are barely breaking even...

Michele Bachmann
On immigration:
The people who will suffer the most, if we move forward, in my mind, with what is a very foolish action the people who will hurt the most are Hispanics and African Americans who already suffer very high levels of unemployment.

And one more from the guy on his high horse (no doubt in search of More Agua ...)
"If this bill has something in it that gives gay couples immigration rights and so forth, it kills the bill. I'm done," Rubio said on the Andrea Tantaros Show.
-- Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) made another threat on Thursday to walk away from his own comprehensive immigration reform bill -- 06/13/2013

There you go America -- the "holier than thou" Party has spoken again. We've been warned.

The Greedy-Old Patriarchs Party continues to prove the old axiom: "You just can't teach an old dog, new tricks."

See the Faith and Freedom Coalition Conference for that "New Road to the Majority" already in progress ...

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
