While I believe that Erica Harold is way too conservative for the 13th Congressional District of Illinois, and I will endorse whoever 13th District Democrats nominate for the November 2014 general election (likely Ann Callis), I am thoroughly disgusted with how she's being treated by some of her fellow Republicans.
Jim Allen, the chairman of the Montgomery County, Illinois Republican Party, said this about Harold, a former beauty pageant winner-turned-lawyer who is mounting a Republican primary challenge to incumbent Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville), in this e-mail that was published by the conservative website RepublicanNewsWatch:
Rodney Davis will win and the love child of the D.N.C. will be back in S---cago by May of 2014 working for some law firm that needs to meet their quota for minority hires.
The truth is Nancy Pelosi and the DEMOCRAT party want this seat. So they called RINO Timmy Johnson to be their pack mule and get little queen to run.
Ann Callis gets a free ride through a primary and Rodney Davis has a battle.
The little queen touts her abstinence and she won the crown because she got bullied in school,,,boohoo..kids are cruel, life sucks and you move on..Now, miss queen is being used like a street walker and her pimps are the DEMOCRAT PARTY and RINO REPUBLICANS…These pimps want something they can’t get,,, the seat held by a conservative REPUBLICAN Rodney Davis and Nancy Pelosi can’t stand it..
Little Queenie and Nancy Pelosi have so much in common but the one thing that stands out the most.. both are FORMER QUEENS, their crowns are tarnished and time has run out on the both of them..
Jim Allen's remarks were not only highly racist and sexist, he made those remarks about a fellow Republican. Allen's remarks prove that the Illinois GOP is run by an old boys network that is only interested in stirring up racial hatred of Black Americans among White Americans and shaming women. Personally, I've always viewed Erica Harold as an anti-bullying activist who is a member of a political party that is run by an old boys network of bullies, and Allen's vile hatred of Harold proves it.
Reince Priebus, the Chairman of the Republican National Committee, has recently spoken about how the Republican party needs to rebrand itself as a more tolerant political party. However, as long as there are bigots like Jim Allen in the GOP, the Republican Party won't become a more tolerant political party.
Just when I was getting fed up about the Democrats in the Illinois General Assembly not being able to agree on anything, Republicans like Jim Allen come along, make stupid remarks, and remind me why I'm a Democrat.
