I am. I don't really get bothered when TSA puts me in the scanning machine. I giggle if they have to pat me down. I don't expect or demand privacy during my travels. Get me there, quickly and safely, and be done with it. My worst reaction is irritation at my fellow passengers who seem to believe that 'carry on' includes the contents of a good size uhaul. Especially on Southwest, when they don't have to pay a baggage fee. Just check your damn bags, people.
I guess the biggest irritant I have is that it seems wasteful. I do wonder if all the security lines, scanners, inspections of moisturizer and lipgloss actually enhances my security. Does making the eighty year old lady in a wheelchair get up and walk through the machine save me? Can we do this smarter and faster, please?
And that's also pretty much how I feel about the NSA 'spying' program. I'm certainly not surprised that anything uploaded gets caught in a dragnet. What, ten years ago our local news warned everyone that identity thieves were driving around neighborhoods lifting information off of residential wi-fi. There's no expectation of privacy in cyberspace. My pop-ups are so micro-targeted I know everything's being aggregated by commercial entities, why not NSA? Honestly, the principle doesn't bother me.
But there is one little niggle. Just like with TSA, I'd like to know that this 'spying' program enhances my security. I'd like something concrete, if NSA can just do this without revealing secret spycraft stuff. Show me we're not wasting time and talent, not collecting the bathwater with the baby. Please.
