It looks like the religious right is out with a new statement saying that if the Supreme Court doesn't properly endorse their personal bigotries they'll, well,
something something something:
As Christian citizens united together, we will not stand by while the destruction of the institution of marriage unfolds in this nation we love. […]
Experience and history have shown us that if the government redefines marriage to grant a legal equivalency to same-sex couples, that same government will then enforce such an action with the police power of the State. This will bring about an inevitable collision with religious freedom and conscience rights. We cannot and will not allow this to occur on our watch. […]
As Christians united together in defense of marriage, we pray that this will not happen. But, make no mistake about our resolve. While there are many things we can endure, redefining marriage is so fundamental to the natural order and the true common good that this is the line we must draw and one we cannot and will not cross.
Right Wing Watch notes that some of these clowns have asserted that pro-marriage-equality rulings would lead to "revolution" and wonders exactly what threat is being made, here. I'm not reading that much into it; it seems more a promise of renewed bigotry and very loud yelling about things—a vow to really, really be jerks to to people. Since "being jerks to people" is the guiding principle behind most religious fundamentalism, that would be right in their wheelhouse and not really a change from where we are now. It probably is not, however, a very good reason to continue denying perfectly reasonable rights to large groups of Americans.
