I must write.
It is in me.
I should be writing plays.
I only have time to write a poem a day.
I have a pension I could live on.
But I'm too young for Medicare.
Instead of writing plays, I work in a warehouse
because I need the health insurance.
Monday morning.
Must leave for work.
Sadly put the pup in his kennel.
Gather up lunch and coffee cup.
Lock door, go out to the driveway.
Flat tire.
Oh Shit.
Call boss, tell him I'll be late.
Change tire.
Pup hears me working, barks incessantly.
Take flat to Jim the Mechanic.
Jim tweaks the lugs with the torque wrench.
I go to work with no spare.
Punch in 30 minutes late.
I have a pension I could live on.
But I'm too young for Medicare.
Instead of writing plays, I work in a warehouse
because I need the health insurance.
I must write.
It is in me.
I should be writing plays.
I only have time to write a poem a day.
