The earth cries out for justice.
The water swells with love.
The sun radiates love and respect and joy.
The wind hums it's song of peace.
I create effigies of human emotion in the forms of animals.
I invest nature with my own yearning and lust.
I sooth my pain with poultices of words and water and mud.
I kite my joy on the burning summer wind.
Your desires will tear up your heart like raccoons in a trash bag.
Your ears will burn with the jealous heat of half-true tales.
Your face will sweat with the fever of forbidden thoughts.
Your fingertips will scratch in the sand for chips of glass and fallen stars.
We are as close to god as we will ever get.
We eat and drink and breathe and bleed in the earth.
We build houses of kindness in the light of our eyes.
We wash our souls in our tears of mourning.
This world is our only home, our only hope.
What I can reach, I can change for better or worse.
Your hand mixes the inks, feeds the child, plucks the strings.
Our breath is a leaf that flutters down into eternal fertility.
