This administration has no shame. Biden asks Ecuador to "please" reject Snowden's request.
Of course, the response of the President of Ecuador was (from link above) that he is "not going to give up on the principles and the sovereignty" of Ecuador.
And here is what else the President of Ecuador, Raphael Correa said:
"In the face of threats, insolence and arrogance of certain U.S. sectors, which have pressured to remove the preferential tariffs because of the Snowden case, Ecuador tells the world we unilaterally and irrevocably renounce the preferential tariffs," Correa said. "It is outrageous to try to delegitimize a state for receiving a petition of asylum."
This administration has reached a new low in foreign policy. We now look again as arrogant and isolated in the world as we were under Bush. Maybe this administration can learn something from Ecuador. Maybe Obama can learn how a president who really stands for principles really is by taking a look at Raphael Correa.
