I know this is not much of a diary, but I'm thinking some of us might want to organize a way to join the 50th anniversary March on Washington. I have no money at the moment, having just got back from San Jose, and managed that only with help from Kossack friends. But I missed the first march - I got back from camp where there was no news available just a few days earlier, and my mother had deliberately not told me about it. She was afraid I would want to go. She was also afraid of crowds, and of political speech and action after McCarthy. I was 15 at the time.
Buses are being organized - so far in NYC and in the south, not many yet. There is a number for the transportation organizer for the march - 877-626-4651. Please let me know in the comments if you are interested in organizing something so a group of us can go. I'll be glad to help with the nuts and bolts if there is enough interest.
Update: The March will be held on August 24. Thanks to MRA NY and Bill W for their comments bringing this up.
And of course we can involve non-Kossacks as well. In fact do any of you know of any groups that are organizing transportation?
Please lets use the comments to share what we know so far, as well as suggestions and general interest.
Thanks all.
