Here it is -- the reason why Huffpo exists: "Human Head Transplants Now Possible, Italian Neuroscientist Says" (linky).
Cartoon Peril at work in the lab.
Now, it seems to me that if head transplants are possible, we'll need to select our number one brains for preservation. This in my book leaves two possibilities: the guy who invented bubblewrap or Dick Cheney. Since I don't know who the bubble wrap guy is, let's go with Dick.
So where would we possibly find a "donor body" for His Vice Presidency's Head? Turns out that problem was solved back in 1972 by the noted scientific firm of American International Pictures:
It seemed like a good idea at the time. A white bigot was dying and a black soul brother needed time to prove his innocence.
Black prison guard to Rosie Greer (seated in electric chair): More power to you, brother. ...
So they transplanted the white head on to the black body. Who would have suspected that neither would have cared for the idea very much?
Sadly medical ethics have advanced somewhat since 1972, and the glory days of human experimentation are just a faded memory. Or are they?
