Republicans are wrong about practically everything. They believe that they are right, but they are only right wing. They cannot bring themselves to admit this. Two post-mortem studies by the RNC and young Republicans found that people perceived them as bigoted, intolerant and cruel. I know that I wouldn't want to be thought of in this way. So here is some free advice. To paraphrase the Clinton campaign, "It's the policies, stupid!"
In the movie, "My Cousin Vinny," Marisa Tomei proves that the defendants' car did not leave tire marks cited as evidence of their guilt. Joe Pesci then recalls the prosecutor's expert witness to confirm her testimony. He hesitates when asked if her testimony does that, Pesci says, "It's OK, they know."
Stop trying to "Re-Brand." A "New and Improved" s--t sandwich is still a s--t sandwich. The reason you are having trouble convincing minorities that your "Freedom Agenda" and your "Pro-Growth" policies will benefit them is that it is simply not true.
It's OK, they know. I mean how could they not? At the same time that you rail against deficits, you want to cut taxes and increase defense spending. You stoke outrage against "moochers" getting $30 per week in food stamps while members of your caucus pocket millions in farm subsidies.
President Obama has delayed implementation of a so-called small-business mandate that requires businesses with 50 or more employees to offer them health insurance. You complain about the mandate at the same time that you decry his imperial decision to postpone it. Meanwhile, 94% of businesses affected already provide the required coverage.
While we're on the subject, let's do some math. The Obamacare mandate on small business only hits businesses with 50 or more employees. If you have 50 employees, and you are paying them an average of $9.84 an hour, you need to be doing $1 million in sales just to meet payroll and therefore you are NOT a small business.
When they were debating he expiration of the Bush tax cuts on the highest earners, Republicans said it would hurt small business. The Democrats countered by saying that it would only affect 3% of small business owners. The Republican response was that that 3% accounted for 50% of jobs. If 3% of small businesses can account for 50% of jobs created, then they are NOT small businesses.
Don't talk about your anti-abortion agenda, your anti-labor agenda, or your anti-non-white agenda. Keep your speeches out of public view and only take interviews with Fox News. It's OK, we know.
