Let me explain, throughout the trial we have been hearing how george zimmerman was facing "imminent danger" and great bodily harm but the only injury Zimmerman has that could be considered serious is two vertical abrasions to the back of his head. Zimmerman of course has been riding this claiming he was having his head smashed into concrete therefore he was in reasonable fear for his life and was right for shooting trayvon. In fact I feel this is his only legitimate defense because being punched in the nose is not serious bodily harm. But think about it there is none of Zimmerman's DNAA on martin's hands and fingernails meaning he could not have grabbed his head and slammed it into the pavement. This means the only way Martin could have slammed zimmerman's head is by putting both hands on his shoulders or back lifting zimmerman up about 3 to 6 inches off the ground and pushing zimmerman back down to the ground. No one has pointed out that a 6 ft 160 lb high school amateur athlete could not do this specifically if zimmerman is resisting. How much does Martin or how much could he lift at the gym considering he was an amateur athlete 50 lbs? 60 at the most. Keep in mind we are talking lifting a 190 lb man's upper body three to six inches off the ground at least 5 times according to Zimmerman. If trayvon could lift 50 lbs assuming he is lifting weights a standard way to strengthen biceps that means he is at the most able to lift 50 lbs about a foot off the ground. Now i am not sure about what the true amount of weight martin would have to lift would be as he is lifting probably half of zimmerman's body but let's say 80 to 100 lbs. It would probably take the same amount od work to lift 60 lbs 1 ft as it would to lift 100 lbs 6 inches meaning it would be within the realm of possibility that Martin would be able to do so if he trains regularly at the gym lifting 50 lbs. However consider the amount of resistance Zimmerman would be giving as he surely would not be sitting like a block allowing himself to be lifted and banged repeatedly. He claims he was trying to move and squirm around meaning he was likely able to resist somewhat. Since Zimmerman is resisting you would have to add probably another 20 to 50 pounds that Martin would have to lift making it unlikely if borderline impossible for Martin to lift him. It seems obvious here it would be nice to have a witness bring up how much Martin was able to lift at the gym so we could get the numbers right but the prosecution didn't bring it up. Of course if anyone can help correct me on the numbers, specifically the amount of Zimmerman's weight that would have to be lifted up that would be helpful. If you are looking to see the way I am explaining how zimmerman claims he is lifted search the video of his lawyer demonstrating ground and pound with the weightless body they brought in to the court room. I would like to provide a video but I don't know how to link videos because this is my second post diary.

This case is real troubling because of the civil rights, black panthers fear it invokes in some people. My first diary is something about George Wallace who  consider a masterful politician who was possibly racist but could have just been usin racial politics to his advantage without really caring about the issue. Either way his legacy is clearly showing in thus trial. The Wallace network(Fox) has been protecting their guy during the trial it's amazing how they restrain themselves from claiming zimmerman was attacked and almost murdered by a Ni** agitator. They can't get away from the facts or the truth though.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

5 moms in an all female jury of 6 are going to empathize with the child.

Zimmerman outweighs Trayvon by 50 lbs. or more.

Women understand the disadvantage of being smaller, and I see no way they let GZ go free.

I was wondering how many are mothers, and, of course, many people who aren't parents still know and love kids.

I was glad to hear John Guy make the comment that the only person in the home at that time was the 12 year old boy, the son of his father's fiancee.

Zimmerman supporters have been claiming that Trayvon didn't go straight home because, to them, that means he wanted a confrontation.

Maybe the jurors will think what I thought: he was scared of this man following him and didn't want to lead him home, where the boy was alone. I think he was trying to get away, but without risking the safety of this child.

I didn't like the defense pathologist, who seemed to take the killing of this teenager far too lightly. His words about reaching in and pulling your heart out of your chest just reminded me of Trayvon's tragic death.

was using emotional arguments and passion you could see it affecting jurors. The defense was trying their dirty Willie Horton tactics. Showing pictures of a black street thug, that was their goal showing the pictures. They weren't shown but you could imagine the impact seeing a few small pictures would have, they wouldn't be able to get the imgaes out of their minds. The  smear campaign is disgusting.

I'm sure the defense would have struck out such a candidate.

But I do feel more confident in this jury than I would in an all male jury. Every woman I know well has had some experience of being followed in a scary way.

The right of the women of this State to be secure in their persons against unreasonable searches shall not be violated by the State legislature.

Chances are they had a weight lifting program in gym class or if he was in a sport like Football or Wrestling. If so then the school has his max Bench Press on record. Do we know GZ's weight at the time of the shooting?
If so then your idea would be easy to prove.

I suggest you email the Prosecution this idea and Trayvon's family after all GZ is looking for an appeal if he gets convicted. Also Email any Media you think is giving Trayvon a fair shake.

was also an 'amateur athelete', I did some weight lifting and typically used 80 lbs to 120 lbs for my sets and I was no stand out in doing so. Many of my friends could lift more, some could lift twice as much. So Trayvon being able to lift more than 50 lbs wouldn't seem at all odd to me.  Zimmerman being able to do so as well wouldn't surprise me.

Two panicky males struggling on the ground and acutely aware that controlling the gun's muzzle is key to staying alive aren't likely to hold and maintain any one particular advantage for more than seconds at a time. If Zimmerman is curling in, twisting, and trying to keep both hands on his gun or arms over his gun, that may expose his head or other body parts to hasty grabs, pulls, pushes, kicks, twists or strikes. However, I don't see how it becomes easy to bash Zimmerman's head on the sidewalk if he's defensively tensed up and curled like that, and seeking for that brief couple of seconds he can point and shoot...which he eventually got. Having had some martial arts experience would give Zimmerman a key advantage if he didn't have to maintain the struggle for very long.

      •  But the 80 to 100 is on bench right which allows (0+ / 0-)

You to use your entire chest to lift a weight upward unless, the motion he used would have take more biceps strength in fact correct me if I'm not right but it would seem his triceps would have to maybe be strong. The majority of people at the gym who I see that are around his weight can lift 40 to 80 with the real built individuals who are around 200-230 lbs being able too lift like pro athletes. But I don't see many people taking two forty pound weights lifting them 5 to 10 times, I would say the average for someone regularly training his size would be 50 assuming its arms unless of course he is using chest strength to do the lifting. I tried doing his action at the gym as being in that average range it seemed reasonable but putting your knees on the floor and lifting 60 lbs was possible but extremely tiring especially because you are pulling someone up or weights up it seems that he would have to have significant tricep strength.. I can lift the same as you on bench as a teen maybe more if its just one and it seems many can do the same but with resistance it seems more difficult to lift weights.

  •  GZ was in martial arts training (0+ / 0-)

maybe he went to the YMCA or a health club certainly his martial arts instructor made him do sit ups if GZ was resisting the amount of situps he could do would tell us how strong his resistance to Trayvon slamming his head was.

  •  Next point GZ has gained (0+ / 0-)

weight lots of it since his arrest jury pools are selected from people who were not paying much attention to the trial and are unlikely to remember how slim GZ was.
Women unlike men are more likely to assume greater weight with greater strength.
Anyone who has knocked down a bigger out of shape guy in football knows greater weight does not always equal greater strength.
Your point about GZ being to big to lift is if anything one the jury will likely see all on their own because they see GZ now and since jury pools are picked from people who don't follow the case they likely won't remember how much lighter GZ was then.
Plus remember greater size especially among women is more likely to be associated with greater strength.

The fact above, IMO, renders the Defense's demonstration with the Dummy prejudicial against Travon Martin's case, as it exists for this dead boy.

The GZ defense lawyer's demonstrated extreme facility with which he lifted the unweighted torso of the dummy & repeatedly slammed it down, would likely not have been such a distortion had the Dummy's torso been weighted.

  •  Hmmm. (0+ / 0-)

I'm a very unathletic 60 year old woman. I don't go to a gym. However, in the course of my job I frequently have to move full milk crates weighing close to 40 pounds, sometimes lifting them head-high. 10 years ago I moved a sheet of plywood weighing about 70 pounds onto a cart at Lowes, onto the roof rack of my car, off my car, and up onto sawhorses without assistance. It wasn't easy, but I did it. I think you may be underestimating what a strong young man can do, particularly when in fear for his  life. Of course, Zimmerman's story doesn't have to be impossible to be untrue.
