Yesterday's Moral Monday, an event that has become a regular occurrence in Raleigh, NC in the last few months, attracted it's usual thousands, with 101 people getting arrested. Here's some eye candy of the event--

Today, Republicans decided to stage a "counter rally." Follow me below the orange squiggly for some fun about the fiasco.
The GOP cordially invited grateful constituents of North Carolina to come thank the legislature for the wonderful job it's been doing. From the NC GOP website:
Tomorrow, Tuesday July 16th, Republicans and supporters will gather at the North Carolina General Assembly to meet, network, socialize and hear from our Republican members and leaders....The theme of the event will be to thank our legislators for their efforts on so many major policy changes that were desperately needed in our state after decades of failed Democrat control.

And how'd that thankful stuff turn out for them? Well, according to television reports,
About 100 people gathered on Halifax Mall, behind the Legislative Building, for the "Thankful Tuesday" rally.

That, my friends, is fewer than the total number ARRESTED at yesterday's rally. And as far as the gratitude our citizens in NC show the legislature? Well, if you don't rely on the paltry turnout today for your evidence, we can always pile on by showing the latest PPP numbers--
The GOP has an overall 35% approval rating for how it's running state government with 55% of voters disapproving.

That's not to say Democrats don't have their work cut out for them in this state. But one should never turn down a bit of good news for our side.
