This won't be much much of a diary. I just wanted to share the good news from Europe today:
UK parliament legalises same-sex marriage
Britain’s same-sex marriage bill was approved by lawmakers on Tuesday, meaning gay couples will be able to marry in England and Wales as of 2014. The bill has drawn little attention from the public but caused controversy among Conservative lawmakers.

So, Britain becomes the 15th nation in the world to legalize gay marriage. Conservatives are distraught... no surprise there.
Controversy over the issue among the Conservative Party has heaped pressure on Prime Minister and party leader David Cameron, who is already facing bitter opposition from many Tories over his leadership style and a promised referendum on Britain's EU membership.
Uruguay, New Zealand, and France have all recently legalized same-sex marriage. Now England.
Who's next?
