Liz Cheney just got a
huge endorsement: Fox's Sean Hannity.
HANNITY: We need more Ted Cruzes. Liz Cheney is like Ted Cruz. I'm voting for Liz.
Wait, he's voting for her? But I thought he lived in New York?
HANNITY: Or, I'm endorsing her. I can't [vote for her] because I don't live in Wyoming."
Ah, got it. And is there anything about Mike Enzi that Hannity finds objectionable?
HANNITY: Mike Enzi, he was one of the Gang of Six Senators who worked with Obama on health care. [...] He brags how he's the 80/20 guy, I work with Ted Kennedy.
If Sean Hannity thinks Mike Enzi was an ally to President Obama on health care reform, he's nuts. In fact, back in 2009, when Liz Cheney wasn't a twinkle in anybody's eye, Enzi
explained what he was actually doing in those talks: "It's not where I get them to compromise, it's what I get them to leave out." He also said: "If I hadn't been involved in this process as long as I have and to the depth as I have, you would already have national health care."
In other words, he wasn't there to help Democrats. He was there to obstruct and delay. Oddly enough, that's Liz Cheney's stated reason for running.
