It's Sunday!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
Follow me over the orange decorative feature please.
Some day I may figure out why I said I'd do this when I have so little going on in my life that is of interest to anybody but me.
My cat just sat down next to me and started yowling (this is being written on the Saturday [as if you didn't know]). Since I am eating my payday indulgence lunch of tortilla chips and pico de gallo, I know (for a change) exactly what he wants. He's a corn chip addict. And he is very happily eating the pieces that I just put down for him.
One of the lovely things about working for a medical school is that they MUST provide insurance that covers health maintenance appointments which, due to a combination of a minor birth defect and a relatively minor injury several years ago, my chiropractic visits qualify as. (I have great admiration for people who deal with chronic pain and maintain pleasant attitudes - I work very hard at not having to do the same, because I'm not sure I could.) I have been having problems with my TMJ lately, as well - my boss loves having high school kids in the lab for the summer, and I absolutely hate having to spend each summer in mommy mode. My latest appointment wiped me out, but after the nap, I do feel much better.
I just put an Impossible Pie in to bake. It should turn out well, even though I did have to make my own self-rising flour for it first.
And the gloppy mess on the counter turned out to be a spill of honey from the cupboard. I was afraid it was some kind of lubricant leaking from one of my rather elderly appliances.
