THIS DIARY.
Kossack tonyahky is in desperate need of major surgery. She can get it, but her recovery will be at least six weeks. During that period, there will be no one else to serve as a personal aide to her profoundly disabled daughter. There is no state aid available, and local churches and charities turned her away. You can read all the background information and details here.
We are currently halfway to our overall goal - but that means that we still need to raise the other half. PDNC has posted a beautifully written, very moving diary about her own experience waiting for a cancer diagnosis and how that relates to Tonya's situation. Even if you can't donate, or have already given, please rec her diary to get more eyes on it. Please also share with your networks, both in on social media and in real life. You never know who will be moved to give, or who will have just the right combination of resources to meet her needs.
My personal thanks to all who have already done so, and who have already helped in other ways.
Chi miigwech.
