D'oh!
Oh,
Marco Rubio.
America, it's not to late to stop ObamaCare
Too often, politicians forget how their decisions impact real people. They dig in to protect their political agenda at all costs, even if it hurts the very people they were elected to serve. And when that happens, no one gets hurt as much as working class Americans. [...]
This September, Congress will have to pass another short term spending bill to fund the federal government. We should pass one that keeps the government open, but doesn't waste any more money on ObamaCare.
Oh, my. Digging in to protect a political agenda? The House will take its
40th repeal vote next week. Hurting the people they were elected to serve? Republicans are
refusing to assist constituents with Obamacare questions. Hurting the middle class? Republicans are trying to convince working people that having health insurance is bad for them.
Congress can shut down the federal government to defund Obamacare? I'll let the Republicans get that one:
- Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC): "The dumbest idea I've ever heard."
- Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO): "No, I don't support that."
- Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK): "Seems to me there’s appropriate ways to deal with the law, but shutting down the government to get your way over an unrelated piece of legislation is political equivalent of throwing a temper tantrum. It’s just not helpful. And it is the sort of thing that creates a backlash and could cost the Republicans the majority in the House, which is after all the last line of defense against the president. And it could materially undercut the ability of the Republicans in the Senate to have the majority in 2014 which they have a decent chance to do."
Okay, then.
1:49 PM PT: Hmmm....
