It's my turn for Ask Me Anything!
First, a little about myself: I'm somewhere between 1 and 3 years old, and I was found on a Saturday morning in mid-January looking for shelter in a big parking garage. That's when I was found, and got the name Chairman Meow, which is really the only bad thing to happen to me since.
Actually, wait: That's all wrong. This isn't supposed to be Ask Cat Anything! ... it's Ask Me Anything! So, I'm Jed Lewison, and I write and blog about politics and policy for Daily Kos. I first discovered Daily Kos a decade ago, but didn't become a regular until about six years ago and towards the end of the 2008 campaign, I came aboard on a full-time basis.
On a day-to-day basis, I write about whatever's hot at the moment, taking assignments from Barbara Morrill who is our Managing Editor as well as finding stuff to write about that catches my eye. I cover about a fairly broad range of topics, but usually from a political perspective.
I enjoy campaigns, particularly presidential ones, and there's nothing in politics that I love more than seeing good Democrats win and watching bad Republicans cave. I just wish that things always happened that way! On a personal level, the things I care most about are economic issues, not just overall growth but also the idea that everybody deserves economic security; energy issues, particularly related to climate change and breaking our reliance on fossil fuels; and civil rights for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.
I'm looking forward to your questions, so fire away!
2:11 PM PT: Thanks, everyone for your questions. I'm looking forward to the next time! (And I'll check back later.)
