Well, obviously, this makes him perfectly qualified:
Lawrence Summers, one of the leading contenders to replace Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, has been a paid consultant to Citigroup Inc. and Nasdaq, according to a report Friday by the Wall Street Journal. Summers was a top adviser to President Barack Obama until he left in 2011. The report said the two consulting jobs, which had not previously been disclosed, are likely to add to the arguments of those opposed to a Summers nomination to the top Fed post. In addition to speaking at internal meetings at Citi, Summers attended small gatherings of clients, a Citigroup spokesman said. At Nasdaq, Summers was an adviser and talked to member companies.
Robert Rubin, previously an Obama economic advisor was a Citigroup bigwig too. Which reminds me....
Rubin, Rubin, I've been thinkin'
If this world was made of glass
All the people in all the nations
Would be sliding on their
Rubin, Rubin, I've been thinkin'
etc,
Round and round we go, where it stops, it could be business or it could be government.
