Rand Paul and his so-called Libertarian Populism is a hateful hoax. Rand Paul is just the latest in a string of captured politicians carrying water for $Billionaires who want their version of Freedom: For them and the opposite for all "Others"
Rand Paul is a dangerous man funded by the Kochs and a host of other pro-corporate freedom-to-pollute-plunder-and-profit $Billionaires, whose foundational beliefs are well-represented by the John Birch Society and, in Rand Paul's own words, Ayn Rand, as well as an un-holy alliance with Ralph Reed's so-called Christian Coalition who dream of their version of theocratic dominionism of America. This is a dangerous coalition!
We all know that the Tea Party is funded by David Koch.
But where do Ralph Reed, the Christian Coalition, and David Koch connect? Here (CLICK TO ENLARGE maps or click here for large, interactive Muckety map http://www.muckety.com/...)
And where do Rand/Ron Paul connect with David Koch? Here (Interactive map found here: http://www.muckety.com/...)
This Koch Rand Connection explains this oddity that took place in the fall of 2011:
Sen. Rand Paul Urges Donations for Conservative Project at George Mason U.
Sen. Rand Paul, a Republican of Kentucky, is soliciting private support for the Learn Liberty Project, a Web-based conservative educational program at George Mason University. According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, Senator Paul signed a 10-page letter suggesting that donors give $100 to $10,000 as a way to help students learn how to “challenge socialistic professors with the facts.”
The senator, a graduate of Baylor and Duke Universities, has no apparent academic ties to George Mason, in Virginia, or to its Institute for Humane Studies, which is undertaking the Learn Liberty Project.
No ties? Not directly, but
George Mason is heavily funded by The Koch Charitable Foundations:
Since 1985, George Mason University (GMU), and its associated institutes and centers, has received more funding from the Koch Family Charitable Foundations than any other organization--a total of $29,604,354.
And, no, Rand isn't named after his idle, Ayn Rand, in his own words:
One more time: $Billions are being spent to hood-wink some very good people into believing that the Libertarian platform is a reasonable alternative to both parties.
It. is. not.
I think the battle plan is to convince the youth vote, most of whom have never heard of The John Birch Society, that Libertarians are all about personal freedom. Legalizing pot as a party platform item does get their attention. But legalizing pot is slowly happening without handing the country over to Birchers!
Will the youth vote be hoodwinked? Who else is being hoodwinked?
For those who have formerly liberal family members leaning towards the Libertarian Lies, here is some suggested reading (The Family Holiday season is approaching):

Will the youth vote be hoodwinked?

Those who think "It Can't Happen Here" are also being hoodwinked, imo.
Sorry this is so long, but I really wonder if people are clearly connecting the dots.
Personally, the idea of a theocratic, authoritarian, hateful of all "others" take over compels me to offer the above.
And why not join forces in diaries such as this to offer our supporting research. What powerful resources these diaries can become when we do, imo
