This is going to be a short one but I figured you all would want to hear the news:

The journalist at the epicenter of the controversy surrounding the revelations of top secret National Security Agency surveillance programs is throwing his weight behind Rep. Rush Holt's (D-NJ) long-shot U.S. Senate bid, the Washington Post reported Monday.
Holt's campaign said that The Guardian's Glenn Greenwald, who first reported on the NSA programs based on leaks from former government contractor Edward Snowden, will participate Tuesday in an online town hall the candidate is hosting, along with Energy Secretary Steven Chu and a group of biology and energy experts. - TPM, 7/29/13
Greenwald is endorsing Holt because of his stance on the NSA's surveillance program and his call to repeal the Patriot Act. Plus Greenwald is not a Cory Booker (D. Newark) fan:
Greenwald will be one of a few big guests to join Holt's "Geek Out" event on YouTube:

Holt is a sizable underdog in the Democratic Senate primary, which is just 15 days away. Polls show Booker, the mayor of Newark, in complete control of the race. Holt, who holds a PhD in physics, has embraced the role of quirky underdog, while seeking to underscore his liberal record and cast himself as a champion of civil liberties.
Joining Greenwald in Holt’s “Geek Out Live” online town hall event will be former Energy Secretary Steven Chu, a quartet of biology and energy experts, and Carnegie Institute President Richard Meserve. The event is being billed by Holt’s campaign as a meeting that “will connect voters across New Jersey and around the country with major thought leaders to talk about the challenges facing America.” - Washington Post, 7/29/13
