Yes indeed, the Netroots Nation annual auction opens Thursday, August 15, and is sure to include lots of items that y'all have come to love about this auction - political and entertainment memorabilia, signed books, artwork, travel opportunities, one-of-a-kind experiences and so much more.
However...the success of this auction depends, in part, on donations from our community. So, make a donation today! You can either donate online here or contact Karen Kolber at Karen at netroots nation dot org and let her know what item(s) you have to donate.
Don't know what to donate? Take a look below and view some of the items that have been donated in the past as well as ones that will be in the upcoming auction.
First of all, items that have been donated in the past include:
• Governor Schweitzer’s bolo tie worn at a previous Netroots Nation
• Suites at Netroots Nation Convention hotels
• One-on-one meetings with Howard Dean, Nate Silver and others
• Vacation homes in exotic locales (like Maine!)
This year's donations so far include:
An original campaign hat from JFK's first run for President. What a unique item that will be a treasured item for any political geek.
Pootie Pad! You know them, you love them. Makes your feline housemates mellow fellows. Endorsed by the itteh bitteh kitteh committee.
Have your team get a jump on everyone by learning the first two categories of the 2014 Chairman's Pub Quiz before anyone else. This was a sought after item last year with the increasing popularity of the Pub Quiz. Win this competition and you'll be sought after by MSNBC, Buzzfeed and possibly 74-time Jeopardy champion Ken Jennings.
So please donate today! All proceeds benefit Netroots Nation, which allows our community to come together for insight, networking and partnership building. Oh, and some drinking has been rumored to take place after hours. I'll have to check into that.
