Nebraska's 3rd Congressional District
It doesn't appear Mark Sullivan is wasting anytime in campaigning in his second run as a Democratic candidate to represent Nebraska's 3rd Congressional District:

GRAND ISLAND - Mark Sullivan is traveling around Nebraska's 3rd District so people can get to know him.
The Doniphan native and Democrat also is letting people know that this time he's running for the district's congressional seat against Rep. Adrian Smith, he means business.
Sullivan, who met with people of the district Friday at Nathan Detroit's in Grand Island, admitted that when he joined the 2012 race against Smith, it was because no one else was running.
"I was so inspired by the folks that I met last time and so encouraged that people wanted change -- not necessarily political change, but change in attitude in government," he said, adding that he decided to tackle the campaign again, this time from the beginning. "I'm going to make a very concerted run at this."
Sullivan also has some pretty straight forward views in that he believes members of Congress have chosen to fight more for their own party than for their country:

"It's been over a year since I filed for the 2012 election," Sullivan says on his website, marksullivan2014.com. "Sadly the same problems with the budget, gridlock, and political game-playing still exist. We don't have a broken system. We have the best system of government in world.
"The current, long running, problems still exist because many in our Congress have chosen to represent their national party and their special interest supporters instead of the citizens who elected them," he says.
From what Sullivan says here seems to indicate a lot of who he is and who he expects to be as a Congressman should he be fortunate to be elected in 2014:

"I'm seeking to represent everyone in this room," he said Friday to the few dozen people listening at Nathan Detroit's. "I also would represent the guy down the street and my good friend at the co-op who is a staunch Republican and heckles me all the time."
Sullivan, even being a Democrat, seems to be getting a warm reception among Republicans in Nebraska:

Sullivan said Nebraskans have treated him very well -- even Republicans.
"They may or may not vote for me, but they are certainly receptive," he said. "That is one thing I love about this whole district -- folks are so kind. Whether they agree with you or not, they are willing to listen to you."
Here's a snapshot of what Sullivan plans to as Congressman:

Sullivan said he plans to fight to preserve Social Security, Medicare and the family farm, work to reduce the deficit and grow jobs.
"I believe that we can balance the budget with shared sacrifice," he said. "Americans have never backed down from a challenge if they are sure we are united for a cause."
Full statement from Mark Sullivan on his recent decision to run for Congress again in 2014:

"After much consideration, and consultation, with my family and friends, I have decided to seek the Democratic nomination, for United States Representative from the Third District of Nebraska.
It's been over a year since I filed for the 2012 election. Sadly the same problems with the budget, gridlock, and political game-playing still exist. We don't have a broken system. We have the best system of government in world. The current, long running, problems still exist because many in our Congress have chosen to represent their national party and their special interest supporters instead of the citizens who elected them. If the voters of the Third District send me to Washington, D.C., I won't represent the Democrats, or the Republicans, or the Tea Party. I will only answer to the Constitution, and the Citizens of the Third District. I am the Candidate, that can, and will be the best Representative for the Third District of Nebraska! I ask you all for your support."
Sullivan is going to need all the help he can get considering that his last run in 2012 to challenge Rep. Adrian Smith barely got him even close to 30% of the votes:
