"The U.S. Supreme Court made the decision I was looking for!"
Mr. Voter Suppression himself, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted, has had a considerable advantage over his 2014 Democratic challenger, Nina Turner.

Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted showed a sizable lead over his Democratic challenger, state Sen. Nina Turner of Cleveland, in campaign money on hand through the first six months of 2013.
Husted, who was elected to his post in 2010, reported having $1.05 million in his campaign coffers at the beginning of the year. He raised about $593,600 more through June. After subtracting for expenditures, he reported having more than $1.6 million remaining.
Here are the numbers for Nina Turner:

She reported having $8,300 at the beginning of the year and raised almost $204,000 through June.
Her campaign, though, spent more than $83,500 in that time. After expenditures, she listed having about $128,750 on hand.
It's important to note though that Turner made her decision to run in 2014 a couple of months ago whereas Husted has the advantage of being an incumbent officeholder. Had Nina Turner decided to run in January of this year, it's possible she would have raised even more funds.
Nevertheless, Turner has raised considerable funds in only two months into her campaign.
