MAJOR SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO DVR'D IT FOR TOMORROW
One word: Intense. (Even for this series)
A few reflections:
A five-minute flash forward with enough McGuffins to choke Hitchcock sets the stage for the last 8 episodes: a burnt out house, hidden ricin, a machine gun, hirsute Walt, a terrified neighbor. Holy crap! What's gonna happen?!
Hank staggers out of Walt's House after his discovery in the bathroom -- is overwhelmed.
Desperate Lydia (isn't she always?) confronts Walt at the car wash -- He brushes her off ("Have an A-1 day").
Guilt-ridden Jesse walks out of Badger's Star Trek exposition -- wants Saul to give his "blood money" to victims families -- RR kid's parents; Mike's grand-daughter. Walt convincingly? lies to Jesse about Mike ("If he told him, he'd have to kill him.")
Walt figures out that Hank knows he's Heisenberg, goes to Hank's garage. Hank slugs him. Walt tells him his cancer is back and Hank "Better tread lightly." (Is this the same guy who was roller dancing with Colbert to Daft Punk?)
Gilligan again defeats expectations -- this time of a season long cat and mouse game between Hank and Walt.
Brilliant.
