Bradley Manning’s apology deserves an academy award!
It was heartfelt and genuine.
But during the last few days of testimony his defense has been less than stellar and it is they who should apologize.
As detailed this morning in“Bradley Manning’s defenses focuses on the wrong place” on In the (K)now blog,
they have been emphasizing Manning’s mental health status during his tour in Iraq. However, the government’s key witness, Adrian Lamo confessed in 2011 on Australian TV that he suffered from severe mental illness just before the crucial online chats with Manning.
Lamo’s credibility and mental health should have been challenged by the defense. But it was not.
