Here's a recommendation A-B would probably rather not have: Budweiser is most popular beer among injured ER patients, pilot study says.
Follow me under the foam...
Many people who end their Friday or Saturday nights in a hospital emergency room have been drinking alcohol. In fact, public health experts estimate that about one-third of all injury-related ER visits involved alcohol consumption.
But what, exactly, are people drinking? ...
Though Budweiser has 9.1 percent of the national beer market, it represented 15 percent of the of the E.R. “market.” ... In all, Steel Reserve, Colt 45, Bud Ice, and another malt liquor, King Cobra, account for only 2.4 percent of the U.S. beer market, but accounted for 46 percent of the beer consumed by E.R. patients.
The study is, admittedly, very small. This data is from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, based on only one hospital in Baltimore "in mostly black neighborhood". White people are of course no less likely to get drunk, do something stupid, and injure themselves, but the brand profile would probably be different. It would be entertaining to see similar data from an E.R. in Beverly Hills or Palm Springs.
Enjoy that beer responsibly please, friends.

Tonight's special beer that hopefully won't cause me to injure myself is Stone "Enjoy By 09.13.13 IPA". Actually a Double IPA at 9.4%. And it needs the massive amount of malt represented by that number to carry this load of hops. If you have ever in your life said "this beer is too bitter", don't even try this one. I think their design spec was "if there is such a thing as too much hops, we want that much". For my taste buds they may have found "too much".

I am preparing myself for incipient poverty so there will be rather less high priced craft beer in my life. If I want something better than whatever's on special in a 30 rack I'll have to start brewing again. Actually I had intended to brew this weekend, but I don't want to take the bus to the homebrew store for ingredients. My car ate shit and no way is it worth fixing. It will be great to have a nice new car; less great to try to find $400 or so a month.
But you don't want to hear about that. What are you drinking? Is anyone brewing?
